About “Shame”
Synopsis
An eye-opening narrative that vividly portrays the hardships faced by numerous African refugees in their perilous journey to the Canarian Islands, navigating treacherous waters in fragile vessels that, much like their desperate occupants, often do not survive the ordeal. This powerful audio-visual statement, directed by Hector Munoz, aspires to impact the future, raising awareness of the dire circumstances endured by these refugees and igniting a call for transformative change in global immigration policies and humanitarian endeavors.
The project
This project is designed to forcefully confront the ‘uncomfortable questions’ that too often go unacknowledged. Courageous individuals like Aridane Díaz Santana, who willingly faced arrest or even the threat of gunfire to document these perilous locations, and the director Hector Munoz, who fearlessly unveiled this cinematic masterpiece, are resolutely committed to catalyzing a revolutionary transformation of profound proportions.
The music
The music for this project is a collaborative effort between Blazhen Nastevski, serving as the Composer, Arranger, and Orchestrator, and Hector Munoz, who takes on the roles of Composer and Instrument Sound Designer. Their music skillfully portrays the profound suffering and paints a vivid canvas of despair, allowing us to empathetically experience the profound loneliness endured by refugees adrift in the vast ocean for days, deprived of food and water.
